Cambodia is a developing country but is still incredibly poor in many areas. This project aims to assist the Cambodian government to reduce poverty and the illnesses that are caused by unclean drinking water. Every year hundreds of Cambodian people, mainly children under the age of five years old, died from diarrhea and other diseases which are caused by drinking unsafe water from the pond and river.
We provide clean water wells and water filters to rural families in Chikeng District, Siem Reap lack access to clean drinking water. Our wells are made from digging with a concrete base at the surface. The villagers assist VTAC staff in digging the well around 10 to 15 meters deep and then drop the well materials inside the hole. Construction worker will concrete it with cement base at the surface and then cover it on the well top to prevent pollution. Each well will supply water at least from five to ten families which is on average 40 people.
Each well has signboard of donor name and country. It takes around two weeks to see the well and the beneficiary family pictures after the order and receiving of the funds for the well. Your donation will help bring safe and clean drinking water to families in need, improving their health and well-being. Our goal is to provide 800 wells and water filters to these communities.
It costs $375 per Well, including the fees of local builders and water filters!
